Miles Ahead Don Cheadle

Miles Ahead Don Cheadle

A couple of weeks ago we previewed the first images of Don Cheadle in Miles Ahead , tonight we can finally see him in action as the film’s U.S Trailer debut’s online. In his directorial debut Cheadle transforms into Jazz legend Miles Davies, check it out….

Ahead of it’s UK premiere at Glasgow Film Festival later this month we get our first look, at the iconic troubled but talented musician. But a troubled soulย who came with a lot of baggage

If youโ€™re going to tell the story, come with some attitude, man.”

Miles Aheadย follows Rolling Stone reporter Dave Brill (Ewan McGregor) wants is an exclusive interview with the jazz legend himself, Miles Davis (Don Cheadle). What he gets instead is a wild and dangerous ride-along with a recording artist living at his edge, rife with shootouts, car-chases, and a tale of lost love to the singer Frances (Emayatzy Corinealdi).

Cheadle stated he wanted an unconvential biopic that stays away from the traits of your generic Biopic and the trailer certainly shows he’s sticking to his guns. Ironically Davis was a character who liked his guns, the drugs and many other temptations available to the celebs of that era. It seems the film does mix some fiction with alot of fact but never hides from the notion Miles Davis was squeaky clean figure. He was a pioneer, also one who wasn’t easily scared to mix musical genres to create something ย truly original.

The film has been on the long festival circuit since 2015 but soon the jury will be out if Cheadle has pulled it off, what we can see , it’s certainly a compelling film.

Miles Aheadย is in UK cinemasย onย 22nd Aprilย (USA 1st April)ย after itย make it’s UK premier at the Glasgow Film Festivalย on 20th then on 21st February.ย Film co-stars Michael Stuhlbarg, Keith Stanfield, and Austin Lyon.
