Luce (2019)

Sundance Film Festival has the habit if unearthing some fantastic films. One of this years was Julius Onah‘s Luce and today Universal Pictures has released the UK Trailer for the upcoming film.

Starring Kelvin Harrison Jr as Luce who looks like the All American ‘poster boy’ especially when it comes to adoption. Tim Roth and Naomi Watts play his adoptive parents and when one of his teachers (Octavia Spencer) discovers something shocking. Luce’s reputation comes into question leafing everyone down a path of dangerous sterotypes.

Garnering some truly fantastic reviews from the festival run, it was only the matter of time the film would get picked up internationally. The big question is, is our titular character hiding some dark secret or simply manipulating you to decide yourselves?

J.C Lee’s story was a stage play, will the film version go for a no traditional film set up? Whatever it goes for, the reviews suggest it’s a solid one.
