What would you do if suddenly aliens where real and one day they visited our little planet? Why Are they here? Is it an invasion? This is the big question we ask ourselves in Arrival Denis Villeneuve‘s new sci-fi drama and today we get our first glimpse at the film’s UK teaser trailer, check it out…
Before he tackles the long awaited sequel Blade Runner 2, Villeneuve is tackling sci-fi not in a high tech or dystopian society. But one solely grounded in present day Earth hanging on the thread of a potential global war, but are they saviours or simply instigators of impending war?
In Arrival, When a mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite team – led by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) – is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.
This is merely a teaser as apparently next week the full trailer will land online (possibly Tuesday), holding back any clues to what type of ‘visitors’ they maybe. It does sound like it’s a story that will play more on drama than invaders possibly they want something but could it be to save us or simply destroy us? None of their intentions or even who they are given here, and not knowing whats going on can be as emotional as knowing. Hopefully things don’t get cliched, it’s a first contact so many sci-fi doors are still left opened leaving your imagination wonder. When it comes to promotion this trailer certainly turns all the right nobs by building a buzz, getting us talk most of all excited.
Arrival lands in UK&Irish Cinemas from 11th November also starring Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker.
