There have been public discussions about a sequel in the past that were made public by the infamous Sony email leaks. On The Howard Stern Show in 2020, Rogen said,We tried to make one. The original screenplay for The Pineapple Express was written by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Judd Apatow, who also produced the movie. It was directed by David Gordon Green and starred Seth Rogen, James Franco, Gary Cole, Rosy Perez, and Danny McBride. It went on to gross more than $100 million at the worldwide box office.
