Margot Robbie’s Future as Harley Quinn To ‘Be Revealed Down the Line’
Fresh on the heels of the excitement surrounding Superman, fans and critics have numerous questions about what’s coming next in the DC Universe, including the future of fan-favourite Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, was asked whether we were likely to see Margot Robbie return to the role, and, annoyingly for fans, he kept his answer brief, saying “That will be revealed down the line”. So far, Robbie has played the role in three DC Films. First in 2016’s Suicide Squad, then in 2020’s Birds of Prey, and then most recently in The Suicide Squad in 2021.
Back in 2020, Robbie told Variety she “fell in love” with Harley Quinn while shooting the first film and explained that she went deep into research for the character by listening to TED talks by women with schizophrenia and reading lots of comic books about the character.
Later in the interview, Gunn also went on to reveal that he also wants to try to bring back Idris Elba‘s character Bloodsport – “I am always looking for a place to put Bloodsport and figuring that out, so we’ll see what happens“.
Superman, the first DCU film, is in cinemas now.
