Project Hail Mary, the upcoming adaptation of the Andy Weir sci-fi book of the same name, will reportedly receive a final trailer, a โ€˜Big Game Spotโ€™ during this Sundayโ€™s long-awaited Superbowl LX and a new Lego set.

The latest Weir adaptation will follow another feature release of the authorโ€™s acclaimed works, 2014โ€™s The Martian, which was based on Weirโ€™s 2011 novel of the same name and directed by Ridley Scott, starring Matt Damon. Project Hail Mary will be brought to the big screen by filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (known for The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street) who are also producing. Writer Drew Godard has written the script based on the original 2021 novel and Ryan Gosling will appear as the lead role Dr. Ryland Grace.

Grace is the sole survivor of a crew tasked with travelling to the Tau Ceti solar system to find a solution to a catastrophic event which has weakened Earth. He aims to continue the mission alone using his own knowledge but the discovery of another life changes the trajectory as he finds himself in a world-changing alliance.

The film’s Lego set, coming in at a cost of around $100 includes a Gosling/Grace figure and the opportunity to re-create the film’s mission ship. It is available to pre-order now but shipping will not happen until 1st March.

Project Hail Mary is set to be Goslingโ€™s longest screen performance and will be released 20th March, 2026.
