More moustache, more Mortdecai in new Featurette
Good news for fans of Johnny Depp, we have been sent a new featurette for his upcoming film Mortdecai, that features of the man and his magnificent moustache. His character Charles Mortdecai is based on a series of books by Kyril Bonfiglioli, with the film focussing on the adventures of the first in the series, “Don’t Point That Thing At Me” from 1973.
The film sees Mortdecai, a debonair art dealer, get recruited by the British government to try to recover a priceless painting that has gone missing. During his mission, Mortdecai must travel the world, and fight off international terrorists and angry Russians to try to retrieve the painting.
The film has attracted big stars alongside Depp, including Gwyneth Paltrow as his wife, Ewan McGregor as a member of Mi5, and Paul Bettany as his beloved man-servant, Jock. The books are renowned for their satirical humour and dry wit, and that, for the most part, looks to be reflected in the film footage we have seen so far. Although, we’re not sure how witty miming squeezing someone’s breasts is!
There is not too long to wait for the film, with it being released in on 23rd January, but you can whet your appetite by watching the trailer and tv spot here and here.
