After the excitement from comic book fans that finally D.C Comics Suicide Squad is getting it’s big screen adaptation however Tom Hardy has dropped out of the film.

According to Hollywood Reporter David Ayer‘s ย upcoming comic book come movie the film has received it’s first casualty. Reasons they give are minimal however they do state Tom Hardy‘s reasons are all down to timing and scheduling forcing the British actor to pull out. The report also says Alejandro Gonzรกlez Iรฑรกrritu‘s The Revenant which Hardy is starring in running over schedule with more re-shoots plus the promotion of Mad Max Fury Road will make things a little more trickier to balance.

Hardy was set to play Rick Flagg a leader of a group of super villains virtually all connected to Batman’s world including The Joker, Harley Quinn, Deadshot. There sent on secret Government black-ops missions too risky for proper routes to take.

It may not all be bad news for fans of the British actor as the report states there could be talented replacement already lined up. The rumours state Jake Gyllenhaal is possibly going to step in and if this is true this will be the first time the pair have worked together since End Of Watch. With the production due to start later this year the only stumbling block with Gyllenhaal is his commitments which at the moment are on Broadway and they are not due to end until end of March.

As in other rumours for Suicide Squad, it’s reported that Viola Davis has still not confirmed to play Amanda Waller despite the recent news that she was confirmed for the role. The other news of Jesse Eisenberg appearing in the film as Lex Luthor is another rumour still to be confirmed or even deny. Whoever will replace Tom Hardy the film is due for a 5th August 2016 release date and will aside Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, and Cara Delevinge.
