Monica Barbaro And Callum Turner Join Universal’s One Night Only
In an exclusive from Deadline, Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner have both signed on to star in Will Gluck‘s newest movie, One Night Only.
Gluck, who directed the hugely successful Anyone by You, is helming this project based on the rewrite he did of Travis Braun‘s original Blacklist script. Braun’s draft topped the 2024 Blacklist and followed two strangers who scramble to find someone to sleep with on the one night of the year when premarital sex is legal. It is currently unknown whether Gluck’s new script will adhere to the original or introduce something new.
The film is set to be released by Universal Pictures, with Gluck also producing the movie through Olive Bridge Entertainment alongside Jacqueline Monetta.
Barbaro has had a successful run of projects recently, including A Complete Unknown, which resulted in her first Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of singer Joan Baez. She is currently working with Luca Guadagnino on his upcoming movie Artificial, where she will star opposite Andrew Garfield and Yura Borisov. She is also set to make her National Theatre debut in a revival of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ Les Liaisons Dangereuses opposite Lesley Manville.
Turner will next appear in Mark Jenkins’ Rose of Nevada, which will have its world premiere at the 2025 Venice Film Festival. He is also set to star in the new A24 rom-com Eternity alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller. This will have its debut at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival in September.
Gluck has a history of directing successful romantic comedies that further propel their stars into the limelight. As previously mentioned, he directed the 2023 hit Anyone but You, which starred Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney. However, he is also behind other rom-coms such as 2011’s Friends with Benefits and 2010’s Easy A.
One Night Only is currently set to be released on August 7th, 2026.
