Interview: Jaclyn Bethany and Alex Sarrigeorgiou On The Tender & Timely In Transit (EIFF 2025)
In anticipation of the release of In Transit, and its premiere at this year’s Edinburgh Film Festival, we got to chat with director Jaclyn Bethany and star and writer Alex Sarrigeorgiou to find out more.
The film follows the intertwined lives of Lucy, a young bartender (Sarrigeorgiou) and Ilse, a painter (Jennifer Ehle). When Ilse asks Lucy to pose for her, the ensuing relationship between the two women changes their lives forever.
In Transit also stars Franรงois Arnaud and was produced by Bethany, Sarrigeorgiou, C.C. Kellog, Sarah Keyes and Tara Sheffer. It was based on a script penned by Sarrigeorgiou.
In our discussion, both Bethany and Sarrigeorgiou discussed navigating complex themes of femininity, existentialism and their artful approach to filmmaking. It was a fascinating discussion, providing keen insight into various aspects of the film.
