Adam Sandler, Good movie are two things that don’t usually come up in the same sentence. You probably have a lot of silence trying to figure out more than one movie. This October Netflix will break that silence with The Meyerowitz Stories (New And Selected). After delivering rave reviews at this year’s Cannes Film Festival the streaming giants picked up Noah Baumbach‘s movie and that movie has a release date. This autumn the movie will be released globally and to celebrate the upcoming release we have the movies first trailer. A trailer which shows Sandler play the piano and get punched by Ben Stiller…
Before you scream the Sandler movies you may enjoy, critically there are very few movies you can say worth your viewing time. Everyone to their own but for a long time the ‘comedic’ actor has a very long list of movies that are rude, crude and very offensive. Movies that fill up the £1 bargain baskets quickly as they are simply terrible. Personally, Punch Drunk Love is one of the very few of his movies people will openly admit they enjoy. He’s shown he can act but has shown he was more interested in paying for his ‘holidays’. This movie has a fantastic cast behind it which gives Sandler a chance to be straightforward as well as even funny in a dry humorous way. The trailer itself doesn’t reveal anything on plot details apart from the movies main family is dysfunctional in every way.
From writer/director Noah Baumbach, The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) is the emotional and comic intergenerational tale of adult siblings (Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, and Elizabeth Marvel) contending with the long shadow their strong-willed father (Dustin Hoffman) has cast over their lives.
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) is based on an original screenplay by Baumbach, the film also stars Emma Thompson, Grace Van Patten, Adam Driver, Candice Bergen, Judd Hirsch, and Rebecca Miller.
Netflix will stream the movie from 13th October globally including the UK and Ireland.
