The iconic slasher horror franchise based on the Friday the 13th series has been a long time coming. Tonight we take another step closer to finally becoming reality with this new promo. This eight-part series expands on that iconic film leading up to the events of the masterful original 1980 film.
A24 Films produce this series with IT: Welcome To Derry‘s Brad Caleb kane as showrunner. Crystal Lake stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees who is still grieving the death of her son Jason. When strangers arrive at her door, it kicks off a disturbing chain of events.
The trailer looks to showcase plenty of iconic moments, fans will be hoping the series is worth the wait. When you have dozen plus films, some people may ask if we do need a series or should we just enjoy what has gone before.
Synopsis | A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, Crystal Lake follows single mother Pam Voorhees (Linda Cardellini) who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?

Crystal Lake will be available exclusively on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland from this October. If you live in the U.S, Peacock will show the series with the launch date of 15th October.
