Not many television shows in the world can merit a live television to promote the changing of actors for the lead role.Tonight BBC 1 in 30 minute interview show revealed the new 12th ย Doctor Who and f**k me it’s Peter Capaldi.

Best Known for his foul mouthed political spin doctor Malcom Tucker from The Thick Of It (also film spin off In The Loop) and the past week Peter Capaldi ย had emerged the bookies favourite with bets been stopped.

The 55 year old born in Glasgow is a lifelong fan of the show so you could say it’s a dream come true to the actor however he is no stranger to the seriesย as he ย first appeared in Doctor Who in 2008, playing Caecilius in the episode “The Fires of Pompeii”. (He also appeared in Doctor Spin-off ย Torchwood‘s Children Of Earth too.

It’s so wonderful not to keep this secret any longer, but it’s been so fantastic,” the actor said on the BBC live showย “Being asked to play the Doctor is an amazing privilege. Like the Doctor himself I find myself in a state of utter terror and delight. I can’t wait to get started,

Whilst some will question Peter Capaldi‘s age moving from the youngest ever to one of the oldest (William Hartnell was also 55).We’re happy the actor has the role and been older he will bring experience great work ethic hopefully ย plenty of wit, humour we know he can provide.

The 50th anniversary episode will air on BBC One on 23rd November with current doctor Matt Smith regenerating into Peter Capaldi ย on the Christmas episode on 25th December.

Now wouldn’t you love the New Doctor to say to the Daleks or the Cyberman ‘Kiss My Sweaty Baws, You Fat F**k?’, Off course but we know that wont happen but can live in hope!
