First look at Mubi’s Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
Mubi has just dropped the first teaser and stills for the upcoming original horror Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. The project is directed by I Saw the TV Glow director Jane Schoebrun and stars Hacks actor Hannah Einbinder and The X Files’s Gillian Anderson.
Additional cast members will include Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Kevin McDonald, Quintessa Swindell, and Jack Haven.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma will be Schoebrun’s third time directing a story which blends classic horror tropes with Queer theory and representation. They also directed We’re All Going to the World’s Fair.
“After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection,” the official synopsis reads. “But when she visits the original movie’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.”
Plan B has provided production while Mubi has taken on financing. The teaser delivers an analog, retro style with VHS imagery.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma will be in UK and Ireland cinemas later this year.
