Batman star Robert Pattinson has shared an update on his experience filming Matt Reeves’s The Batman: Part II, the heavily anticipated sequel to 2022’s critical hit, The Batman.

Based on original comics including The Long Halloween, Batman: Year One and Ego, the latest live-action update on one of DC Comics’ most recognised faces following Ben Affleck’s portrayal for the DCEU starsย Pattinson, Zoรซ Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Serkis, and Colin Farrellย in a Se7en-inspired story charting The Dark Knight’s early days fighting crime and trying to solve the disturbing puzzle curated by the bitter political-philosophical interpretation of The Riddler.

The film grossed $772.3 million from its budget of $185 million-$200 million and earned critical acclaim for its style, performances and thematic exploration of class conflict and systemic corruption within the superhero genre.

A sequel was confirmed in April 2022, as part of an isolated Batman Epic Crime Saga and shared universe, also including HBO’s series The Penquin, which is now running against a new DCU film world with takes on Superman, Supergirl and Clayface. Filming began recently with the film’s leading man starting to feel the toll of intense fight scenes.

โ€œItโ€™s good. Iโ€™m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot. Iโ€™m literally like, โ€˜Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.โ€™ But itโ€™s really fun. And I think the movieโ€™s going to be pretty great,” the star explained. “Itโ€™s got a really, really fun cast, but itโ€™s a marathon.”

Pattinson has been a central figure in 2026 film, with central appearances already made in Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama, Christopher Nolan’s The Oydessey, and upcoming ones in Lance Oppenheim’s Primetime and Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three to end the year.
