It’s been confirmed that Hamlet star Noah Jupe has joined the cast for the MCU’s 40th feature installment, Avengers: Secret Wars, slated as the sixth part of the Avengers film series and as a follow-up to the upcoming and heavily anticipated Avengers: Doomsday.

The film will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, working from a script penned by Michael Waldron, Erik Sommers, Stephen McFeely and Chris McKenna, inspired by Jim Shooter’s 1984 comic arc of the same title and John Hickman’s 2015 take, also titled Secret Wars.

Jupe will be joining original faces Chris Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn and Anthony Mackie, with plot details kept under wraps.

Production is due to begin later this year once Avengers: Doomsday hits theatres this December, a film event which will see former Iron Man star Robert Downey Jnrย appear as the supervillain Doom; as such a colossal threat to the multiverse, he causes the Avengers to return to team up with the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, the Wakandans and the X-Men, as pulled from multiple universes and following the earth-shattering events of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

The actor’s role in Avengers: Secret Wars will see him reunite with former theatre co-star Sadie Sink, who first appeared alongside Jupe in London’s recent take on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, with the two taking on the titular roles of the doomed, star-crossed lovers.

Sink has just made her MCU debut as a new canon take on X-Men member Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and currently standing as 2026’s highest-grossing release, a role which was kept strictly secret despite ongoing fan rumours and speculation. The former Stranger Things star will then reprise the role in a fresh X-Men reboot as part of the MCU’s official canon, alongside Samara Weaving, Kit Connor, Inde Navarrette, Christopher Abbot, Maya Boyd and Adam Driver, with Jake Schreier directing from a script penned by Lee Sung-Jin and Joanna Calo.ย

Meanwhile, Jupe’s additional film credits include his 2017 debut, The Man with an Iron Heart, by director ย Cรฉdric Jimenez, alongside John Krasinski’s 2018 horror, A Quiet Place, as well as its 2022 sequel and upcoming 2027 threequel. His recent major roles have been the actor playing Hamlet in Chloรฉ Zhao’s Oscar-nominated Maggie O’Farrell adaptation, Hamnet, and Michael Sarnoski’s dark take on the Robin Hood tale, The Death of Robin Hood.

Avengers: Doomsday hits cinemas on 18th December, and Avengers: Secret Wars on 17th December 2027.
