After months of early casting rumours, Marvel has announced the first batch of cast members for Jake Schreier’s X-Men reboot during the Disney Showcase at D23.

After Sadie Sink was finally confirmed as Jean Grey with the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans have been eager to find out who would join her in the ensemble, with Kit Connor and Samara Weaving previously reported to be joining the cast as Cyclops and Emma Frost, respectively.

These castings have now been officially confirmed at the expo, with Kevin Feige announcing that Christopher Abbott will play Professor Charles Xavier, Obsession breakout Inde Navarrette will star as Rogue, and Broadway star Maya Boyd will take on the role of Storm. The newly announced cast also came together publicly for the first time at the expo.

But the first members of the superhero team weren’t the only surprise at the expo. The crowd was also treated to a video message from Adam Driver, who confirmed that he will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Nathaniel Milbury, better known as Mister Sinister. There are still more names to come for the upcoming film from Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier, with Kevin Feige noting that these are just the cast members confirmed so far.

It was also confirmed that Marvel’s X-Men will hit cinemas on May 5, 2028, following this year’s Avengers: Doomsday and next year’s Avengers: Secret Wars. With Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3 also set to arrive in 2028, it’s shaping up to be an exciting year for Marvel fans.
