Elliot Page Isn’t Sailing Through Casting Calls Post-Odyssey Release
Actor Elliot Page has discussed the aftermath of his onscreen appearance as Sinon, the son of an Antinous slave who is raised as a soldier, in Christopher Nolan’s box office and visual spectacle, The Odyssey, as adapted from the Epic poem of the same title by Homer, despite the character not featuring in the original poem and instead being borrowed from Aeneid by Virgil.
Page was among the star-studded and prolific cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron, alongside Himesh Patel and Samantha Morton.
As Nolan’s thirteenth directed feature and following 2023’s Oppenheimer, The Odyssey has made history as a box office smash-hit, standing as 2026’s second highest-grossing release with a global amount of $1.557 billion, thanks to US ticket sales of $568 million and international ones of $989 million. Priced as one of Nolan’s most expensive flicks with a budget of $250 million, the adventure film is now the director’s first release to top the $1 billion mark following 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
Given the mammoth success, both critically and commercially, Page’s recent interview on the On Film…With Kevin McCarthy podcast saw a surprising answer when host Kevin McCarthy assumed the Umbrella Academy star is now “….getting a zillion calls after [the] movie.”
“No, Kevin, I’m not,” Page replied, laughing. “So, let’s — if someone wants to call me … “
Following further prompts on whether or not he has further acting credits lined up after the fantasy epic’s release, the actor simply replied with “not really,” yet affirmed that he would “love to do good work. That’s what [he would] love to do.”

Nonetheless, the Juno actor remains positive and affirmed in his craft, stating how “I feel like I could maybe do some of my best work now.” He also shared some kind words for director Nolan, whom he had previously worked with in 2011’s sci-fi mind-bender Inception, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy.
“I had such a great time being in [Inception]. I had such a great time working with [Nolan],” he explained, despite his inner state of feeling “personally really uncomfortable.”
“Whereas a part like Juno, I was able to feel more comfortable and embodied,” Page added.
“To come back now, as you can imagine, being more comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of projects more enjoyable,” the star reflected on back at NYC ComicCon, as stemming from his 2020 transition. “To get to have a Chris Nolan experience again now meant so much to me, selfishly.”
