Beautiful new Song of the Sea trailer and poster

For those seeking animated films outside of the mouse house this Summer, Song of the Sea is an ideal choice. Directed by Tomm Moore, the man behind the critically acclaimed The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea takes its story from Irish folklore and features music by Irish band Kila. The film has already been a critical hit on the festival circuit, and will now be released in the UK next month. To celebrate we have the beautiful new trailer and poster.

Synopsis – Song of the Sea tells the story of Ben and his little sister Saoirse – the last Seal-child – who embark on a fantastic journey across a fading world of ancient legend and magic in an attempt to return to their home by the sea. The film takes inspiration from the mythological Selkies of Irish folklore, who live as seals in the sea but become humans on land.

Song of the Sea is released in UK cinemas on 10th July and features the vocal talents of Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan, David Rawle, Lisa Hannigan, Pat Shortt and Jon Kenny.
