Zendaya and Tom Holland as Spider-Man

Reports have started to appear online today that Zendaya has officially signed up for her next project – a sci-fi film for A24 from director Alex Garland.

We have limited information at this stage, with plot details being kept under wraps, but reports say that the feature is set to shoot in 2027. It marks her latest collaboration with Zendaya and A24 after the hit TV series Euphoria and the comedy, The Drama, which was a box office hit (earning almost $135 million worldwide). Alongside The Drama, Zendaya has also appeared in two of 2026โ€™s biggest movies, The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which smashed box office records. It doesn’t stop there either, with Dune: Part Three on the way in December, which will inevitably be a massive hit.

For Garland, it also marks a continued collaboration with A24, who have also produced and distributed numerous of his films, including Ex Machina, Civil War, Men and Warfare. It’s also behind his upcoming video game adaptation of Elden Ring, which stars Kit Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Ben Whishaw, Nick Offerman and Tom Burke. A lot of Garland fans have been patiently waiting for him to make the third 28 Years Later movie, having been involved in the previous films in the franchise. Speaking recently at the London Film Festival, Danny Boyle said Garland had written a โ€œfantastic scriptโ€ for the third โ€œ28 Years Laterโ€ but noted he was now busy working on โ€œElden Ring.โ€ โ€œSo itโ€™s on the back burner at the momentโ€.
