The name of the game in any sport is protect your assets  even if that means in cotton wool in the first trailer for Concussion. Will Smith is the man with the brain for the protection of the brain in a David  Vs Goliath battle, as the neurologist who discovers price of trauma in the game of NFL.

With Autumn knocking on the door the big players  for Oscar/Awards contention will be slowly be arriving in cinemas and this Sports drama certainly looks like it could be involved.

Concession tells the true story of Dr. Bennet Omalu a forensic neuropathologist who makes important crucial discovery of concussive head trauma or the degenerative disease of the brain caused by repeated hits to the head. The NFL weren’t pleased with his findings Dr Omalu starts on the long road to get awareness of the injuries with the general public. The doctor is an outsider to American football make him unaware the status quo of the game with clubs not appreciating of the implications of his actions even if it means saving the lives of the players.

Parkland director Peter Landesman which has been adapted from a GQ article called ‘Game Brain‘ some people are calling this ‘The Insider’ of sports due to the commercial interests. It’s a little hard to believe Will Smith as the Doctor probably largely thanks to the trailer packing so much of the story into 2 minutes leaving you not much room to digest the lead characters. It feels we’ll start the story in the middle of the lions dens which leaves you questioning the character development .

Concussion stars Alex Baldwin, Albert Brooks, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Eddie Marsan, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Stephen Moyer, Luke Wilson and David Morse. The film is due out in UK&Ireland on 29th January 2016 with US release 25th December.
