Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate have released the latest trailer for Kiss of the Spider Woman, a potential player in this year’s awards season, which you can watch below!
Director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls; Twilight; Beauty and the Beast) delivers his all-singing, all-dancing remake of the 1985 Best Picture Oscar nominee, which yielded an Oscar-winning turn from William Hurt and an acclaimed appearance from Raul Julia. Both properties are based on Terence McNally’s 1993 stage musical, itself adapted from Manuel Puig’s 1976 novel. Condon’s film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and stars Jennifer Lopez, Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. Watch the trailer below.
Official Synopsis:
Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon returns to the movie musical in this dazzling Technicolour-hued fantasy. Valentín (Diego Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency. The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favourite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez). Based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical hit.
Kiss of the Spider Woman is due for release in America on October 10th with a UK release date to follow.
