Disney Pictures, the new movie usually equals successful movie, maybe not always critically but Box Office at least. Beauty And The Beast have to date taken an enchanting £53.6M at the UK and Ireland box office after only 19 days of release making it the studio’s highest grossing live action release under the Disney banner. After waltzing past the £53m mark the film overtook Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (£52.52m), which has held the title since its release in 2006. The result also sees the film become the 20th biggest film of all time in the UK and Ireland box office.
Beauty and the Beast opened with a magical £19.7M on its opening weekend, making it the 5th highest grossing 3 day opening of all-time and the highest grossing opening for a PG movie and the biggest ever opening for a musical. Globally the film is currently on $900M with the US box office coming in at a current total of $401.M.
We can easily say the majority of critics have enjoyed this new version of the classic Oscar nominated movie, with the overall feedback from cinephiles worldwide has been unanimously they loved it.
