Pirates Of The Caribbean: Orlando Bloom “would love to see everybody back”
Pirates Of The Caribbean star Orlando Bloom had an interesting response when questioned about a potential reboot of the franchise at Fan Expo Chicago, saying he “would love to see everybody back” and that it’s “the way to win” (via EW).
Rumours about a return to the franchise have been floating around the internet for years, with Margot Robbie once rumoured to be leading a refresh of the series. However, last May, producer Jerry Bruckheimer updated fans that Jeff Nathanson was in the process of writing a reboot of the franchise, which would hopefully star the original leads, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley. Although Knightley has since ruled out a return, saying “Itโs years of your life, you have no control over where youโre filming, how long youโre filming, what youโre filming”.
At the convention, Bloom said, โEverything is in the writing, right? Everything is on the page, and I think thereโs definitely, Iโm sure thereโs a way to create something”. Before going on to add โI would personally love to see everybody back. I think the way to win on that one is to get everybody back. If they can, and if everybody wanted to go back”.
The original trilogy followed the story of Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) before two other films were later created featuring only Sparrow. Overall, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has grossed $4.5 billion worldwide so far.
