I Play Rocky New Trailer ‘Lays It On The Line’

We’re are a couple of weeks away from the cinematic release of Peter Farrelly‘s I Play Rocky and Amazon MGM Studios release a second U.S Trailer that ‘lays it on the line’.

If you love that ‘underdog story’ this promises to deliver that. The rise of one Sly Stallone, this film is that unknown actor (Anthony Ippolito) getting his break. A script written by Sly and a role he was destined to play too even if the studio said no.

The film was BFI London Film Festival’s surprise film, the reaction was divided. There was the usual underwhelmed audience walking out, for those who stayed overall fairly positive. Many giving credit to Ippolito’s performance as a young Sly Stallone, many did say his accent came across as a ‘parody’ at times. I Play Rocky does have plenty of critical reviews from it’s Toronto Film Festival debut and this trailer showcases the ‘triumphant’ response.

This also stars AnnaSophia Robb, Toby Kebbell, P.J. Byrne, Jay Duplass, Kiki Seto, featuring Matt Dillon with Stephan James and Tracy Letts.

EFD Films are releasing the film in the UK and Ireland, they have released a 3 clips check them out…

Synopsis | The film is an electrifying true story about an unknown actor with an unshakable belief that he wasn’t just meant to write Rocky—he was meant to be Rocky Balboa. Told “no” at every turn, Sylvester Stallone bets everything on himself, holding the line on playing the lead against seemingly impossible odds. The result is the ultimate underdog story behind the ultimate underdog movie.

I Play Rocky will be released in the UK and Ireland in select cinemas from 6th November, then everywhere on 11th November. Amazon MGM Studios will release the in the U.S the same day.
