‘This Is Mickey Cohen’s Town’ New UK Trailer For Gangster Squad
There’s nothing better when a film keeps to it’s promise and Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad looks like it will be keeping to it’s word of been stylish but most of violent and hard edged. To keep of that Friday feeling Warner Bros have released a new second trailer for Gangster Squad which sums up one little saying ‘I want to see this!!!’ and on the evidence of this trailer I’m sure you will too!
Gangster Squad is based on Paul Lieberman’s book set in 1949 the film stars Josh Brolin a former cop who returns from military service in World War 2 and goes to Los Angeles to lead a Police task force to take on the organised crime creeping into LA from East coast lead by mobster linchpin Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn).
Fleischer hasn’t had much luck since Zombieland nor has Gangster Squad (re-shoots, delayed release) 30 Minutes or Less was simply not funny resulting in many people a little concerned about G-Squad. However the trailers that have gone plus this trailers have laid rest to the ghost that this will be one of the highly anticipated films for 2013. The big change you’ll see is there no cinema massacre in this trailer (possibly not the film either) as the timing of the last trailer was around the time of the tragic massacre in Aurora USA when Dark Knight Rises was released. Thankfully the film has moved on, the marketing out of respect of the victims of the massacre has taken a slightly more sensible approach and from the new trailer it looks like Sean Penn will steal the show as Cohen with Brolin balancing things as the hard boiled cop out to stop him.
Gangster Squad is due out 11 January 2013 and stars Ryan Gosling,Emma Stone,Michael Peña, Ryan Gosling, Robert Patrick and Anthony Mackie and Nick Nolte.

Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and—if he has his way—every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop…except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart.
