The New Legends Of Monkey

There was a time in the 1980’s adults of a certain age Japanese cult comedy Monkey was essential viewing when they were kids. I’m one! Today Netflix has released the the official Trailer for The New Legends Of Monkey.

The fallen god Monkey and his band of fellow misfits, Tripitaka, Sandy and Pigsy back for more adventures. Still searching for those sacred scrolls all around the world to save their own kingdom from demon rule.

First of all this is not Japanese, it’s Australian which looks like a cosplay. Looks a bit cheap but as we know never judge a book by it’s cover. Nor think because it looks low budget it won’t be fun!

From Emmy-winning producer See-Saw, hit series THE NEW LEGENDS OF MONKEY returns on August 7 and sees fallen God, Monkey, and his band of fellow misfits, Tripitaka, Sandy and Pigsy back for more adventures, continuing their search for the sacred scrolls they need in order to overcome the chaos of demon rule in their kingdom.

Following their Emmy-winning adventures in series one, where the team escaped Jade Mountain with the Scroll of Immortality, their next step sees them looking to get their hands on the Scroll of Knowledge, hidden in the โ€˜Infinite Archiveโ€™, and then journey on to find five more sacred scrolls scattered across the world.

In this season they must battle scroll guardians, wicked demons and legions of demon warlords in the hope of gathering seven scrolls to take to the distant Western Mountains in order to empower the godsโ€™ resistance. Inspired by the victories of Monkey and his companions, humans begin to rebel against demon rule and the demons reform their ancient armies to fight the resistance.

Action-packed fun and hand to hand combat ensues as Monkey and co. travel the world, facing demons and working together to secure the scrolls and restore balance to the world.

The New Legends Of Monkey Season 2 will launch on Netflix 7th August.
