A brain, a beauty, a jock, a rebel and a recluse, 30 years ago the Late great John Hughes unleashed the cult hit film The Breakfast Club. That was 1985 it’s now 2015 the film celebrates 30th anniversary, SXSW 2015 hosted the world premiere of the newly restored version with over 1000 fans enjoying the beloved film . Prior the screening Cast members Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy were also attendance for a special Q&A answering fans questions about film.
The event happened yesterday 16th March at SXSW Festival in Austin Texas USA a film that cost around $1 million to be made raking in $51 million which in 1985. It was a big deal then helped establish John Hughes as one of the big Hollywood directors of the time setting him up Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Home Alone also cult hits.Now days you can see the film playing late screenings in cinemas of all sizes in and around the country.
Ringwald and Sheedy weren’t the only stars of the day, The Barton Hills elementary school Choir sang the iconic ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’.
I was 10 when The Breakfast Club was released though too young to see it but I was old enough to realize Molly Ringwald was eye candy for young boys everywhere and even 30 years on she still is!
