‘Superman’ Sequel: ‘Man of Tomorrow’ Release Date Set
With Superman soaring through the box office, DC Studios has wasted little time preparing the Man of Steel for his next adventure.
After the success of the David Corenswet-led film, writer/director James Gunn is back at the helm for the sequel entitled Man of Tomorrow. Alongside Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult is also expected to return as Lex Luthor. The announcement came from Gunnโs social media on Wednesday, Deadline reports. The filmmaker shared an image of both Superman and Luthor drawn by Jim Lee to break the news. The image features Luthor in his Warsuit, perhaps hinting at the villainโs sinister development.
With Superman grossing over $600 million since its release, the sequelโs announcement this soon should come as no surprise.
When Superman is drawn into conflicts both abroad and at home, his actions to protect humankind are questioned, and his vulnerability allows tech billionaire and master deceiver Lex Luthor to leverage the opportunity to get Superman out of the way for good. Will the Daily Planetโs intrepid reporter Lois Lane, together with the aid of Metropolisโs other metahumans and Supermanโs own four-legged companion, Krypto, be able to help Superman before Luthor can completely destroy him?ย
Although 2027 isnโt far away, fans wonโt have to wait long to return to Gunnโs DCU. Supergirl is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026. If things go to plan, Gunn will follow up with Clayface on September 11, giving fans plenty to chew on before Man of Tomorrow.
Man Of Tomorrow is set for July 9th, 2027. Superman is available to rent and download now.
