Sunday Short Theatre – Voyage of the Galactic Space Dangler

In the words of Monty Python “now for something completely”, this weeks Short Sunday Theatre is certainly something completely different, absurd! Voyage of the Galactic Space Dangler name is the first big clue this short film is different like The Mighty Boosh have a WWE style wrestling match with Gareth Marenghi refereed by Monty Python. Now that’s something I would love to see too, but will stick by this 8 minutes of nutty goodness…

Looking back at Stanley Kubrick’s classic 2001 Space Odyssey which reveals when we where apes / cavemen what if  they met the last ever person a spaceman? This film attempts to capture that moment and as you’ll see  an sequence of unusual events occurs.  Evan Mann’s experimental short film  leads us to ask ourselves several questions, has technology  really improved our lives or merely life experience?

Voyage of the Galactic Space Dangler  is an absurd film but in a fun way and when we think of advancements , we know technology now (we are all using that advancement just now reading then watching the film on this post) has advanced. But there was one point in our history we did believe we would be colonize planets in solar system rather than watching science fiction films. Like many of those old films Evan has used many everyday household objects to provide the set design, so need for mega budgets just a great imagination.

You will be left scratching your head at times, laughing  other times most off all an engaging entertaining film to enjoy. When you see the scene  the caveman with what looks like milk, it will probably leave with a WTF moment because if your mind has a warped sense of humour your thinking will be thinking a million different reasons, some I’m sure you don’t want to share here.
