The Oscar hopefuls are slowly coming out to play as they get in line to showcase why they should be worthy of a golden statue. One of those films that will be released is Beautiful Boy starring Steve Carrell and Oscar-winning Call Me By Your Name star Timothée Chalamet.

The pair plays father and son David and Nic Sheff whom the film is based ar film won’t be around their memoirs. A story of (drug) addiction and how it destroys the addict’s life and those around them.

Studiocanal has released an emotionally charged new clip which David confronts his son Nic. Asking him to take a Drug Test, a difficult chat, but one that has to be done. Felix Van Groeningen‘s film won’t be an easy watch, however, addiction affects everyone. Sadly too often and this film will be bound to hit a few nerves

Based on the memoir “Beautiful Boy” by David Sheff and “Tweak” by his son, Nic Sheff, the film chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years.

Beautiful Boy is set to be released in UK and Irish Cinemas from 18th January 2019. Co-starring Maura Tierney and Amy Ryan.
