Peaky Blinders

Last month production started on the movie version of Peaky Blinders, today Netflix announced new casting with Stephen Graham the big standout.

Last week, production commenced on the film, which will be an epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga, set in the lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s.

Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Barry Keoghan are also confirmed to star alongside Cillian Murphy who reprises his role as the iconic ‘Tommy Shelby’ in the film. The plot and further casting remain tightly under wraps.

Sophie Rundle (After the Flood, Gentleman Jack), Ned Dennehy (Culprits, The Peripheral), Packy Lee (Blue Lights) and Ian Peck (His Dark Materials, Robin Hood) are returning to the world of Peaky Blinders for the highly anticipated feature film. In addition, it was announced that Jay Lycurgo (Steve, Half Bad: The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself) will also join the film.

Fans of the show will know several of the newly announced cast are no strangers. Sophie Rundle played Ada Shelby the sister of Tommy who took over the family business from her brother. Also in the final season (six) Graham played Hayden Stagg, at this stage, we still don’t know if he and Rundle will still be playing the same characters.

The title for this Peaky Blinders movie is still to be announce with the showrunner and creator Steven Knight writing the script. Directing duties fall with Tom Harper (Misfits, Wild Rose) who has also directed episodes of the show. Netflix is set to release the movie in 2025.
