transformers4-newlogo-fullWith Cinemacon underway over at the devil’s playground of Las Vegas Michael Bay looks to have used the convention (a comic con for cinema managers) 2 announce that Transformers 4 has a new cast member and that the film will be released in IMAX format.

The Baymeister has announced that Stanley Tucci has signed to join the human cast a cast that already includes Mark Whalberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor. No word on exactly who he’ll play nor even which side of the fence he’ll be batting either but cinephiles know Tucci is becoming a Franchise regular with The Hunger Games, Soon Percy Jackson even Captain America under his belt.

We don’t much about the exact story of the new film which could be learning from past mistakes with the robots or something completely different hopefully soon we’ll find out with the cast starting to take shape.

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know Michael Bay loves his big over the top action scenes and so many scenes from Transformers 4 will be shot partly with Imax cameras. When we talk about camera this is the new 3D Imax cameras which are apparently smaller and more agile than the original cameras more expensive but will output even more footage which is perfect for the Baymeister. Though he would probably love to shoot the whole film with those camera but being the first director to use them will probably give him the biggest buzz of all.

Transformers 4 is one of 5 Paramount films Imax are to partner up with, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is another confirmed. Transformers 4 is scheduled for a 27th June 2014 UK release.
