Seth Rogen Joins Cast For Ansari’s Directorial Debut Being Mortal

Searchlight Pictures have announced that Seth Rogen has joined the cast of Aziz Ansari’s feature directorial debut Being Mortal.
He’ll be joining the already announced cast that includes Academy Award® Nominee Bill Murray (The French Dispatch, Lost in Translation) along with Ansari (Master of None), who also wrote the script and is producing with Youree Henley. Taylor Friedman and Cameron Chidsey are overseeing for Searchlight Pictures.
The film is based on Atul Gawande’s non-fiction book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End. The actual plot details are still under wraps, if we go by the details we know from the book explores the ways in which serious illness, old age, and even death itself can be managed through a focus on quality of life over quantity of days left living. With Murray, Rogen and off course Ansari himself this will be comedic with a leaning towards drama.
Rogen can currently be seen in Disney+’s highly acclaimed “Pam & Tommy” starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan. He recently starred in Warner Bros An American Pickle and in Long Shot alongside Charlize Theron . Rogen was recently nominated for two Primetime Emmy awards for Outstanding Drama Series for Amazon Prime’s “The Boys” and for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program for “Da Ali G Show”. He will next be seen in Steven Spielberg‘s The Fabelmans alongside Michelle Williams for Universal Pictures.
Principal photography will start this April, Searchlight Pictures have stated they are set to release Being Mortal theatrically in 2023.
