Will Robert Pattinson Be ‘Catching Fire’?

From making Female Twihards weak at their knees to limousine loving hair cut searching millionaires is Robert Pattinson returning to Tween franchise land again? Think McFly Think  think he is and if this one is true The Hunger Games maybe about to get a whole new army of followers (many I’m sure already like the franchise) as they are reporting R-Pattz is to star in The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire as Finnick Odair.

When we read about this, it was greeted with a strong woof of scepticism  especially as Pattinson is trying  so hard to separate himself from his Twilight Saga connections so he can move on in more sophisticated directions like Cosmpolis so would he want to fallback into Teen franchise territory again? There’s two factors which may make this one a possibility, Twilight and The Hunger Games are now both Lionsgate films and Catching Fire’s new director is Francis Lawrence who happens to be Water For Elephants director and as history tells us directors like to use same stars for many of their future projects too.

If he takes the role of  Finnick Odair  is one of the franchises important characters a bit of a Jack the lad, a ladies man who is a former tribute who won the 65th Hunger Games at the age of 14. Been a former winner Finnick find’s himself dragged into the third instalment which inolves all former winners in a special champions of champions tournament ,The Hunger Games ‘Quell’ . I haven’t read the books  but what I have read about the character online he is one of the more intriguing popular characters  which is more than the one dimensional Edward Cullen however I’m sure Twihards and Hunger Games fans might have something to say about it but most of all the actor himself  might have the last word on that.

If Robert Pattinson wants to progress  post Twilight his current route of arthouse films will be his best plans, stay clear of Teen franchise but maybe 10 or 20 years down the line things might be different. I would file this one under gossip only, but never say never! Robert Pattinson can be seen been grown up in Cosmopolis which is out June 15th, watch trailer here.
