Prime Video’s Citadel Drops Trailer For Season 2

Amazon Prime Studios has just dropped the trailer and release date for the second season of Citadel. The spy action show stars ย Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Richard Madden, and Stanley Tucciย and focuses on a team of spies fighting for their identities back after a rival agency wipes their memories clean.

Additional cast members include Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings, Matt Berry, Gabriel Leone, Lina El Arabi, Merle Dandridge, Rayna Vallandingham and Jack Reynor.

The second season will reportedly see the secret agents take on a new threat: a billionaire weaponising a new piece of technology, prompting the team to recruit a team of assistants.

The show is created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, andย David Weil, with Anthony Russo and Joe Russo credited as executive producers. Directing credits are shared between Newton Thomas Siegel, Jessica Yu and Joe Russo, while Oh, Weil, Appelbaum and Melissa Glenn feature as episode writers.

Season one sits with a 52% score on Rotten Tomatoes from 81 critics, while 29 Metacritic critics gave the show a score of 51 out of 100, yet it did receive two nods at the 22nd Visual Effects Society Awards. The show’s budget ranges up to $300 million, with critics emphasising the explosives and onscreen action as one of the show’s spectacle highlights. Citadel: Season 2 comprises seven total episodes.

Citadel: Season 2 streams on Prime Video on May 6th.
