Despite it’s mixed bag of reviews you can say The Hunger Games was a success even with it’s flaws which has propelled it’s young lead actress probably into the big league, Jennifer Lawrence. We read the ambitious director’s wishlist for Catching Fire (David Cronenberg, Alfonso Cuaron, Alejandro Gonzalez ) after Gary Ross parted ways but as we know now Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) is in the director’s chair for the rushed through sequel and 16 months to go until it’s released the ambitious targets for Lionsgate seem to be carrying on on the casting front.

If reports are true Philip Seymour Hoffman will become the latest linked name to the franchise to play the part of Plutarch Heavensbee  but who is this character? Fans of the book will know who he is but for the rest of us Heavensbee is the new Gamemaker who replaces Seneca Crane who of course gets executed for what happened in The Hunger Games. If Hoffman accepts it would be his first franchise film since Mission Impossible 3 back in 2006 which makes this highly unlikely will happen but as we say here at The Peoples Movies HQ Never Say Never to anything. He would be a great choice for playing a an authoritative who maybe perceived as nice person on face value but underneath a sly deceiving mad man, Heavensbee part in the book is small however the actor of his stature things can be changed or carried onto the third film.

The Finnick Odair  part will be the main rumour many The Hunger Games fans will be keen to see sorted first with new names been connected near enough every few days with Robert Pattinson, Taylor Kitsch, Garrett Hedlund and armie hammer been the latest (now unlikely). Whoever it will be will find out very shortly as filming is due to commence this Autumn for November 22nd, 2013 release.
