Patrick Wilson joins the cast of Prometheus

It’s not much to go on but CBM are reporting Patrick Wilson (Watchmen) is joining the cast of Ridley Scott’s Prequel, Oops sorry Sci-fi horror with Aliens Franchise ‘DNA’ PROMETHEUS. In an interview with the actor’s hometown newspaper St.Petersburg Times Wilson was talking about his upcoming US tv show A Gifted Man and at the end of the interview the following was mentioned:
Wilson will need to leverage everything heโs learned from Shorecrest (Wilson’s hometown) to a new role in the highly anticipatedย Alienย prequelย Prometheus(directed by originalย Alienย auteur Ridley Scott) for hisย latestย challenge.
Ok the above piece doesn’t give away major revelations but it does do is reveal another fine actor joining an ever increasing cast for a film with Wilson joining ย Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Ben Foster, and Michael Fassbender. Nothing is known about what part Wilson will play ย or for that matter what the actual story will be about as its been shrouded in so much secrecy you’ll have more chance of finding out secrets at your local masonic lodge (nudge nudge wink wink say no more!).
Here’s a reminder of the ‘synopsis’
Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to lifeโs ultimate mystery.
In other Prometheus gossip CBM also reported on a possible rumour that Lance Henriksen maybe returning to the franchise (or ‘dna’ of the franchise), here’s the actors response:
Henriksen said, “I don’t know whether or not the character of Weyland is in Prometheus or not, but I know that I haven’t ever been contacted to be a part of it. I know there are rumors out there about my involvement, but I honestly don’t know much about the production at all. But knowing the kind of director Ridley is, I’m really intrigued to see what he does with the movie.”
PROMETHEUS will land in a UK cinema near you from June 1st 2012.
