Official Synopsis Revealed for Spider-Man: Brand New Day In Movie Art Book
Penguin Random House has shared new official story details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day through the release information for Spider-Man: Brand New Day – The Art of the Movie by Jess Harrold.
The art book offers the clearest look yet at the direction the film is set to take, following Peter Parker after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. With his identity erased from the world’s memory, the film is positioned as a new beginning for the character.
The official synopsis, as listed by Penguin Random House, reads:
“Four years have gone by since we last caught up with our friendly neighbourhood hero. Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at the top of his gam,e keeping New York City safe. Things are going well for our anonymous hero until an unusual trail of crimes pulls him into a web of mystery larger than he’s ever faced before. In order to take on what’s ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be at the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past!”
The synopsis suggests a much more grounded, street-level story for the character, focusing on Peter rebuilding his life after the events of No Way Home while dealing with new challenges without the support system he had previously: Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), Ned (Jacob Batalon) and MJ (Zendaya).
Spider-Man: Brand New Day – The Art of the Movie will feature concept art, character designs, and behind-the-scenes material from the film’s production, giving fans an early look at how this new era of Spider-Man is being shaped.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with Tom Holland returning as Spider-Man. Further details have yet to be officially announced. Zendaya, Batalon, Michael Mando (as Scorpion/Mac Gargan) and Mark Ruffalo return in the film, as well as new recruits Sadie Sink, Travis Tillman and a first MCU big-screen appearance for Jon Bernthal as The Punisher/Frank Castle, as well as rumours of another appearance by Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently scheduled for release on July 31st.
