Kristen Bell Cast as *SPOILER* in Sonic The Hedgehog 4
Kristen Bell, known for Frozen and Nobody Wants This, has been cast as the voice of Amy Rose in the upcoming fourth Sonic the Hedgehog film for Paramount Pictures.
Plot specifics for the new film are currently under wraps, but it has been confirmed by Ben Schwartz on his Instagram that Bell has closed a deal to voice the iconic pink hedgehog character. She becomes the latest celebrity voice added to the franchise after Ben Schwartz himself as Sonic, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails and Idris Elba as Knuckles in the second, and finally Keanu Reeves as Shadow in the third.
It is widely believed that the human cast of these films will also return to reprise their roles. The star ensemble includes the likes of Jim Carrey as the villainous Dr Robotnik, Lee Majdoub as his devout assistant Agent Stone, and James Marsden and Tika Sumpter as Sonic’s adopted family. Jeff Fowler is down to direct his 4th film in the franchise, while Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Toru Nakahara return as producers.
Expectations are high for the film, with the initial trilogy surpassing $1 billion at the global box office, and critical acclaim also increasing with each entry. Rumours are that O’Shaughnessey, Elba and Reeves will return in some capacity to voice their characters again, but no official word on whether Marsden, Sumpter or Carrey will be part of the fourth film, particularly as the latter has been talking about retirement for a while now. But if anyone can get the Ace Ventura star back in the saddle, it’s probably Sonic.
