Netflix Unveil Naoki Urasawa’s Pluto Trailer

Pluto coming to Netflix in October 2023

Over the weekend in the U.S, Anime Expo took place and during their panel Netflix released the official Trailer for Pluto.

The series may look familiar to those old enough to remember retro anime. Pluto is based on Osamu Tezukaโ€™s Astro Boy and โ€˜The Greatest Robot on Earthโ€™ arc from 1964. Praised by many as a masterpiece, the series is based on the manga of the same nameand created by Naoki Urasawa (20th Century Boys, Yawara!, Master Keaton) and his long-time co creator Takashi Nagasaki.

The suspense drama takes place in a neo-futuristic world where humans and high-functioning robots live in complete harmony. Check out the first trailer…

Europol detective robot Gesicht races to solve a string of murders targeting advanced robots and key figures in robot law, uncovering the greatest evil in history. Praised by many as a masterpiece, the manga PLUTO is based on Osamu Tezukaโ€™s Astro Boy โ€˜The Greatest Robot on Earthโ€™ arc from 1964 and created by Naoki Urasawa (20th Century Boys, Yawara!, Master Keaton) and his long-time co creator Takashi Nagasaki. The suspense drama takes place in a neo-futuristic world where humans and high-functioning robots live in complete harmony. The globally acclaimed manga has won numerous awards, including the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.

The Japanese voice cast includes Shinshu Fuji (Gesicht), Yoko Hikasa (Atom), Minori Suzuki (Uran). Also Hiroki Yasumoto (Mont blanc), Koichi Yamadera (North No.2), Hidenobu Kiuchi (Brando), Rikiya Koyama(Hercules), Mamoru Miyano (Epsilon) and Toshihiko Seki (Pluto).

Pluto will launch on Netflix from 26th October.
