Millie Bobby Brown’s Perfect Scrapped; Star Drops Out
Brown was set to play Olympic medalist gymnast Kerri Strug

It has been confirmed that the Millie Bobby Brown–led sports biopic Perfect, aimed for a Netflix release with Brown appearing as Olympic medalist gymnast Kerri Strug, has ceased development due to the star dropping out of the project as a result of creative differences.
The film was originally slated to be directed by Gia Coppola before the job was given to Cate Shortland, with Ronnie Sandahl serving as writer.
The Stranger Things star was in the final stage of negotiations to take on the role back in September, as well as working as producer alongside Nik Bower and Thomas Benski.
Brown is one of Netflix’s most profitable and well-known stars, thanks to her roles in the smash hit show Stranger Things, as well as the two Enola Holmes film adaptations as the titular character. The star has also appeared in the sci-fi film The Electric State and the action fantasy Damsel. Brown’s contract with the streaming platform has banked her over $10 million.
Strug was one of the faces of The Magnificent Seven, the 1996 USA gymnastics team, which also included Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Dominique Dawes, Amy Chow, Jaycie Phelps, and Amanda Borden, who was the team captain. Strug famously performed the vault manoeuvre while pushing through an injury to the ankle, securing the gold win for her team and having to be carried off the mat. The team has a whole won a combined seven medals at the 1996 Olympics, with all members winning a team gold, Miller securing an individual gold and a silver, Chow winning an individual silver, and Dawes winning an individual bronze.
