Michael Jackson Parodied In New Scary Movie 6 Trailer

Keenan Thompson as Michael Jackson in Scary Movie

Marlon and Shawn Wayans have aimed at the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, in the latest teaser for their upcoming horror spoof comedy Scary Movie 6, the next installment in a franchise which is more than familiar with exaggerated swipes at significant pop culture figures.ย  The scene, parodying the trailer for Antoine Fuqua’s biopic on the artist titled Michael, which just hit cinemas, has been added to a trailer released by Paramount Pictures.

We see SNL starย Kenan Thompson don Jackson’s iconic Thriller era style in the recording studio, with Marlon Wayans appearing as a parody of infamous music producer Quincy Jones.ย  The brief sequence includes jokes on Jackson’s ad-libs, moves and eccentric taste in pets.

Jackson was also parodied in the third and fourth Scary Movie films.

Scary Movie 6 is set to follow the franchise’s style of mocking the latest, popular horror films, the overall genre’s cliches and faults, as well as the latest pop or political culture. Films seemingly spoofed in the trailer include Jordan Peele’s Get Out, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, Tate Taylor’s Ma, Tyler Gillet and Matt Bettinelli-Oppet’s Scream revival, Gerard Johnstone’s M3GAN, David Gordon Green’s Halloween revival, Osgood Perkins’s Longlegs and Damien Leone’s Terrifier series.

The film stars the Wayans brothers, Anna Faris and Regina Hall.

Theย Michaelย biopic has just hit theatres, starring Jaafar Jackson, the King of Pop’s nephew, as Jackson. Nia Long,ย Laura Harrier,ย Miles Teller, andย Colman Domingoย also star.

Scary Movie 6 is in cinemas on June 5th.
