Meryl Streep Has Family On Her Mind In Ricki And The Flash Trailer

She Dance and sung her heart out Abba style in Greece, but now it’s Rock ‘n’ Roll as she returns home as the first UK trailer for Ricki And The Flash, starring Meryl Streep.

So will the Queen of Oscar Streep deliver another winning movie even if comedy is not Awards friendly? With Jonathan Demme, Diablo Cody and Streep herself  anything is possible.

In Ricki And The Flash,Streep takes on a whole new gig, a hard-rocking singer/guitarist. In an original and electrifying film loaded with live musical performances, Starring as Ricki Rendazzo, a guitar heroine who made a world of mistakes as she followed her dreams of rock-and-roll stardom. Returning home, Ricki gets a shot at redemption and a chance to make things right as she faces the music with her family.

What ever Streep tries she always seems to deliver, even if the actual film itself isn’t anything to talk about. Believable at whatever she tries and looking at the video would you think she only took guitar lessons just over an year ago?Maybe trailer is leaning on giving a little too much  but when Cody the queen of dramedy writing this one plays on our curiosity.

Ricki And The Flash will arrive in UK&Ireland 7th August, co-starring her real-life daughter Mamie Gummer, Rick Springfield, portraying a Flash member in love with Ricki; Kevin Kline as Ricki’s ex-husband,Audra McDonald and The Winter Soldier himself Sebastian Stan.
