When her husband suddenly dumps her, longtime dedicated housewife Deanna (McCarthy) turns regret into re-set by going back to college…landing in the same class and school as her daughter, who’s not entirely sold on the idea. Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna—now Dee Rock—embraces freedom, fun and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.
The movie is directed by McCarthy’s real-life husband Ben Falcone. He’s directed many of her previous movies and this is one of the more toned down characters. She still looks pretty wild, still has one of her usual disguises. If your a fan of her previous movies this one will keep you smiling.
Life Of The Party will party at a UK and Irish cinema near you from 11th May. Co-stars Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Molly Gordon, Stephen Root, Jacki Weaver, Jessie Ennis, Adria Arjona, Debby Ryan, and Jimmy O. Yang.
