Masters of the Universe Gets Powerful International Trailer
Sony Pictures UK has released a powerful new international trailer for their upcoming reboot of Masters Of The Universe, set for cinemas this summer, and you can watch it below!
Based on the popular toys from Mattel and the subsequent cartoon series produced by Filmation, Masters of the Universe is the first live-action film from the franchise since 1987’s version, which starred Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.
This time around, it’s Nicholas Galitzine (Red, White & Royal Blue) who takes on the mantle of the most powerful man in the universe, who also appears for the first time on film as Prince Adam, He-Man’s alter ego, who gets seperated from the Power Sword of Grayskull on Earth and spends close to two decades trying to find it so he can return home to the mythical world of Eternia.
Travis Knight, director of Kubo & The Two Strings and Bumblebee, directs the film from a script by frequent collaborator Chris Butler, as well as Adam and Aaron Nee (The Lost City) and David Callaham. The Nee Brothers, Alex Litvak and Michael Finch are credited with the story.
Camila Mendes plays Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, James Purefoy as King Randor, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, Jรณhannes Haukur Jรณhannesson as Fisto, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Kristen Wiig as the voice of โRobotoโ, Jared Leto as the villainous Skeletor and Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms star in the film.
Synopsis
In MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, Director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back to the big screen in this epic live-action adventure. After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man โ the most powerful man in the universe.
Masters of the Universe hits UK cinemas on June 3rd.
