This Friday (30th September) Harlem’s new hero Luke Cage will finally arrive worldwide on Netflix and the streaming giants want to unveil one last trailer. If your anticipation levels haven’t already rocketed they will be as your eyes glance this final promo as people need Luke but he doesn’t want to be a hero…

Whilst Marvel devastates the box offices worldwide, Marvel with the help of Netflix are slowly building an absolute monster online. Delivering those wishes of Marvel’s adult fanbase, a show that’s grounded, gritty, violent most of all grown up. Maturing into their own distinctive style and Luke Cage looks set to follow Daredevil, Jessica Jones and that Marvel’s future online is going to be a very long one.

Starring Mike Coulter will play our titular hero Luke Cage, an ex-convict attempting to rebuild his life best he can. When inside he volunteers for a medical experiment it’s sabotaged leaving Luke super strength and unbreakable skin. Whilst he just wants to live a normal life as best he can, Luke is encouraged to used his special skills to his advantage and keep the area safe from the likes of Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali) the local Kingpin forces Luke to face his past and become a hero for hire.

Some are calling this series ‘The Wire Of Marvel Television‘ which could suggest this show could be regarded as more political than other Marvel Netflix shows. Corrupt politicians, nefarious people and this trailer does give us a better look at the story and it’s characters. Mariah Stokes does seem to stick out and ironically she is Cottonhmouth’s cousin but will she be split on her loyalty to the people of Harlem or her Cousin? Ali looks a fabulously unhinged dangerous villain and hopefully after years of playing supporting roles Ali may get a break in more lead roles.

Luke Cage will arrive on Netflix UK &Ireland (and internationally) from Friday 30th September. The series also stars Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Rosario Dawson, Frank Whaley, and Sônia Braga.
