Something coming and that ‘something’ is Luther: The Fallen Sun. Netflix have unveiled the first look at the new upcoming Luther feature film, which will be heading to cinemas next month.

Tonight the streaming giants announce the long awaited feature film to the popular BBC series will be in UK Cinemas 24th February. Before heading to their channel on 10th March.

Idris Elba will once again wear the mac and be John Luther. The film comes nearly four years after the final fifth season. It’s also two years after Netflix announced they will release the film.

Luther: The Fallen Sun sees our titular disgraced cop hunt for a gruesome serial killer terrorising London. Luther himself is behind bars due the failure and still haunted by a cyber psychopath, John breaks out and finish the job.

In Luther: The Fallen Sun — an epic continuation of the award-winning television saga reimagined for film — a gruesome serial killer is terrorizing London while brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther (Idris Elba) sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.

The film also stars Cynthia Erivo, Andy Serkis and Dermot Crowley, who returns as Martin Schenk.

Luther: The Fallen Sun will be Select UK Cinemas on 24th February and on Netflix from 10th March.
