Cult German Hit Linie 1 To Get Studiocanal Blu-ray Release

Linie 1 coming to Blu-ray 20th February

Studiocanal set to give Reinhard Hauff’s Cult film Linie 1 a Blu-ray release in February.

The German film was released in 1988 starring Inka Victoria Groetschel, Petra Zieser, Johannes Krisch, Thomas Ahrens, Hark Bohm, and Claus-Peter Damitz. Some of the cast in multiple roles

The film offers a stinging critique of a divided Germany before the fall of the Berlin wall, but also serves as a fascinating portrait of Berlinโ€™s vibrant and unique bohemian society – the literal underground of the city.

With a fantastic, catchy soundtrack and irrepressible energy, Linie 1ย  was one of the most successful German musicals ever released A quirky gem that fans of cult hits Subway, Streets of Fire, Run Lola Runย andย Victoriaย are bound to enjoy. Anyone with a nostalgia for the 80s should not miss. This is one train journey you wonโ€™t mind getting stuck on!

This brand new restoration of the cult German film, LINIE 1, based on the wildly successful stage musical, sees Sunnie leaving her stifling provincial hometown to find rock musician Johnnie, who got her pregnant on a one-night stand. She ends up at Berlinโ€™s bustling, chaotic Zoo station, where she gets stuck on underground Line 1, encountering an array of fringe urban characters including hipsters, pimps, punks, drunks and rap queens, who help her on her quest to find her elusive lover.
