With a career spanning film, TV and the stage, James McAvoy’s journey from  Drumchapel Glasgow to Hollywood is testament to his depth and versatility as an actor. His steadfast commitment to storytelling has left an indelible mark on cinema. James will attend the festival to receive the award and will also participate in an In Conversation event, where he will look back at his career.

The talk will be followed by a special screening of James McAvoy‘s  breakthrough role in film as Dr Nicolas Garrigan in Kevin McDonald’s compelling fiction debut The Last King of Scotland (2006), introduced by James. There’s still time to buy ticket for the film which you can do here (unfortunately In Conversation event is sold out!).

Glasgow Film Festival will run at Glasgow Film Theatre and venues across the city from 26th February to 9th March, with a programme boasting 13 World and European premieres, 66 UK premieres and 12 Scottish premieres from 38 countries.
